MERTCANTILE SHIPPING LINES LTD Mercantile Shipping Lines is a part of Meghna Group of Industries and as you can see from the enterprise list how MGI expanded widely so now we have also taken steps in the shipping world by adding 3 Ocean Going Handymax Bulk Carriers. On 15th of June 2011 we proudly received the IMO number against Mercantile Shipping Lines (IMO Company Identification Number 5615220). It has a direct link with our trading business over the world. Chittagong is a port city of Bangladesh hence the Ocean Going Vessels team has been located to our Chittagong office to build a better ongoing relationship with the shipping industries based in Bangladesh. There are more than 55 shipping companies in Bangladesh and most of them are based in Chittagong. As Meghna Group of Industries was established in 1976 so within these 36 years the growth expanded rapidly which had an impact on the whole country. Using the good reputation of MGI we have managed to give Mercantile Shipping Lines a strong background already in the shipping world
Our shipping team is working very hard every day to give it a better shape and we have already managed to set up our own network by keeping a good relation with suppliers, agents, brokers, ship managements . We are recruiting the best Captains and Chief Engineers from the world and to look after the office side we have experienced Marine Super and Technical Manager and in future we have plans to recruit more experienced and self motivated mariners to give Mercantile Shipping Lines a better shape to compete with the current market. We are already well known in the shipping sectors but in future we want to be one of the best in the shipping sector.
